Attie van Wyk Primary School is situated in a semi-rural area approximately 30 km from downtown Cape Town. The school enrols around 300 students ranging in age from 6 through 13. It is located on a farm and mainly serves the children of farm workers. The homes from which the students come are very poor and consequently the children face many socio-economic problems.
The classroom project was initiated and funded by a group of expatriate South Africans living in Canada.
