Western Canada Schools Project 2013
During the 2013-14 school year ACSI member schools from Western Canada collected funds to build an Early Childhood Education block at Pfunanane Academy in Modjadjiskloof, South Africa. This school provides education for many local children who are poverty stricken and come from dysfunctional family situations. As some of the children they have no permanent home, they live in a group home on the property, under the care of American volunteer workers. The school offers education from Kindergarten through Grade 7. Due to increasing enrolment more classroom space is urgently needed. By September 2014 enough funds were raised with the help of individual donors and contruction is now underway. The new building is due for completion in time for the 2014 school year in January.
